Even Better Than Before

images-1How apropos that my hotel in Disneyland this past weekend was situated right beside the Sephora in Downtown Disney. The fact that I found this Sephora to be almost as large of a daily draw as the amusement park itself is both ridiculous and wonderful at the same time. I cannot help myself. I am a beauty junkie! After a morning at Disney, I would head back with the fam for naps at the hotel, and casually sneak out the door for an hour of “my time” which involved ordering up a cheesy Wetzel’s Pretzel, a large diet Coke, and a leisurely stroll through my favorite store on earth. At said beauty mecca, I purchased Clinique’s Even Better Foundation in Beige. I had tried the foundation several times while at Nordstrom, and I liked the creamy texture and matte finish of the product. I loved the fact that te foundation had a bit of spf as well- perfect for my Disney days. The foundation promises smoother and more refined skin over time, but I am just super happy with the way it wears. It is awesome. As a sidebar, when at Disney- you must stay for the evening fireworks. They were truly breathtaking!

Viva Glam VI Special Edition Gloss

imagesThis Memorial Day weekend I headed down to SoCal for some Disney fun, and I spent a wonderful weekend revelling in the sunshine and laid back atmosphere that is Southern Cal. While strolling about, I happened upon a MAC Cosmetics event. Makeup artists, dressed in animal prints and wielding makeup brushes, were doing makeovers on the street. The scene attracted me into the store and, while browsing, an adorable little print-wearing salesgirl, wearing the perfect nude lipgloss, walked me through the wonders of the Viva Glam VI Limited Edition Gloss. To tell you that this is a very special edition is an understatement. It looks like a glossy pink in the tube but it becomes a wonderful cool, nude shade on the lips. Apparently it is Kim Kardashian’s favorite gloss- and, while I hate to admit it, I love her makeup look. All this is to say that I highly recommend snapping up this special edition before it has been edited.

Mark It Up

logoI am writing this post because I feel obligated to tell you about my secret love of Mark cosmetics. (Mark is the more fun, sort of younger side of Avon) and they really do have awesome product. I used to be afraid that it was totally for teens, and some products do skew young, but they have such a nice range of neutrals and brights that are just what you want from a trendy and somewhat inexpensive makeup purchase. You can literally set yourself up with a whole new cosmetic wardrobe for summer for the same price as drugstore products, but Mark (being an Avon brand) puts loads of R&D into their products, so you know this is good stuff. I happen to really love their “hook ups” collection because you can customize lip glosses and pencils and literally create your own mini makeup wand that travels with you in your purse or pocket- so easy for on-the-go refreshers. Check our my friend Tiffany’s online boutique and make a purchase- you will love, love, love.
