Ahhh…Aveeno

I just had to add another post about haircare. This will probably come as no surprise to anyone who knows me and has seen the massive amounts of barely-used shampoo in my shower. When reader Jenn emailed me about her love of the Moroccan Oil and Aveeno shampoo mix, I knew I had to try it. I just did– and with beautiful results. Something is up with the Aveeno products. They are special. They smell special, and my hair felt markedly softer than the last time I washed and conditioned. This is a wonderful new haircare combo that just needs to be shared.

Psychic Friends

products-headerReader Jenn sent me a beauty dispatch the other night that totally put us in the same psychic frame of mind. She mentioned loving the new Aveeno haircare line and the new Moroccan Oil haircare products. I had just purchased Moroccan Oil and was literally living for it all day. I used the original oil as well as the Moisturizing Cream and found both to totally soften and smooth my dry hair. My sister first tipped me off to the product, and I had been considering a purchase ever since she detailed the benefits of the line. Another thing that excited me? The products were sold out on Drugstore.com when I searched for them online. That is a great sign- the product has many fans out there, and I am one of them. Next to try? Aveeno Shampoo and Conditioner- as soon as it hits my local Walgreens!

So Chanel

11480-886495-tOn my quest to get the TRB flip flops that I unceremoniously lost in a frantic bidding war on eBay, I arrived at Nordstrom today with a serious mission- purchase a pair of Tory flip flops in a size 9 no matter what the color. I achieved said goal (and cashed in my $20 Nordstrom notes to boot) and, in the process, also fell head over heels in love with a pair of Stuart Weitzman “jellies” I spotted. These adorably feminine sandals are so totally and completely Chanel, that I had to have them as well. See them here. I can see myself wearing these with rolled up jeans this Spring and with solid color sundresses all summer long.

The $50 Flop

images-1I have an odd fashion relationship with Tory Burch. Sometimes I think I am totally over the whole TRB thing- and then I fall for a cute new shoe that I know would look perfect in my shoe portfolio, and I kind of have to have it. This scenario presented itself to me this weekend. My mom is here in SF for Easter week, and we ran around shopping together. She purchased an adorable pair of pink patent sandals with a giant TRB emblem. I thought they were truly perfect for her, but maybe a bit too “logo-y” for me. Whilst browsing shoes, I noticed a totally fashionable girl with a huge hobo bag and giant bug-eye sunglasses. She was browsing the hurache sandals (which by the way are so IN right now) and I noticed that she was wearing Tory flip flops. They looked too adorable on her. These flip flops are not something I would usually bat an eye at. I mean they are just flip flops, rubbery and black- like every other flip flop out there. Except for the one little gold TRB charm-sized accessory. And for some reason, they looked perfect on her, and I immediately became obsessed. Too bad for me they are almost entirely sold out of almost every decent size in almost every department store in the city I am presently  bidding furiously on eBay for my very own pair of $50 flip flops. Call me crazy. I guess I am not over Tory.

Perfectly Pale

imagesI have news about the perfect pale pink lip. It is readily available for all to access and love thanks to Jemma Kidd Makeup School. The line is sold at Bergdorf’s and also in the Space NK Apothecary boutique within Bloomingdales, and the color is called “Juliet.” It is, without a doubt, the perfect spring and summer shade. I can totally see this looking AMAZING with a slight tan, and right now it looks sweet with a light touch of bronzer.
