Freezing in NYC
Remember how I was totally annoyed with the fact that it was 90 degrees in LA, and I still had not worn any of my new Fall clothes? Well I take that sentiment back. I take any and all such sentiments back. I am currently in NYC, my previous hometown, and am literally freezing my pants off. It is the coldest day of the season so far at 35 degrees and the wind chill is making it feel like the teens. I have work to do here, hence my trip on almost zero notice, and I managed to pack some very warm items for the next few days– all of which were my staples last year when I had to adapt to this bitter chill each day. However now, in the halcyon days of warmth and palm trees in Los Angeles, I think I have been drugged into a state of cold aversion whereby my newly Californian body simply refuses to adapt to these frigid temps, as if on principle. So, no matter how bundled up I am in wool and mittens and hats, I am freezing and miserable and missing LA. Who knew?!

Hmmm…sounds to me like someone’s blood has gotten pretty THIN in LA-LA land.
Actually…not so much. When the temps drop every year I wonder how/why we put up with this cold here too. But…I learn to adapt, eventually. I love the changing seasons and that means I must accept the cold also. Enjoy NYC and your winter/fall clothes…before heading back to the warm, stable, and WILDFIRE-PLAGUED land called California.
